Going to Kenya on the 2007 team did change my life. I encourage everyone to join the 2009 MIssion Team on May 23 to June 6. If I can do it, anyone can. Even though I have no medical skills and pass out at the sight of blood, I was a Triage Nurse and even a Physician's Assistant. It was the greatest adventure and the most fun I ever had. I never felt safer than when I was in Kenya. It is much safer
than America. We were accompanied by an armed guard the entire time we were in Kenya. Bill and Sheila Williams are incredible and fearless leaders. I was very comfortable and slept in a "princess" bed with a mosquito net and a double mattress, even new sheets and new blankets, all provided. Even though, my clothes and food were lost by the airlines and never reached Kenya, I had plenty of both. Wow! I have never laughed so much and never felt so close to God and so safe and protected. I think about my friends in Kenya every day and my church school, the Mary Buttrill School, at Jackson United Methodist Church, in Jackson, GA, adopted two elementary schools in Kenya that I visited. They donate their chapel offerings to the schools in Kenya and enjoy seeing my pictures and hearing my stories about Kenya. The safari at the end of the trip is incredible. You get to see zebras, giraffes, elephants, etc. up close from the safari van. What can I say, but urge you to join the 2009 Kenya Mission Team today.
